1. Register and data protection notice
This policy describes how personal data is processed through the Berke Özkök website at www.berkeozkok.com. It covers the website visitor and contact register under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.
2. Data controller
Data controller: Berke Özkök
For privacy questions or requests concerning your personal data, please use the contact form.
3. Register name
Website visitor and contact register
4. Legal basis and purposes of processing
Website operation and security: personal data is processed to deliver pages, maintain the website, troubleshoot problems, and prevent misuse. Processing is based on legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure website.
Contact and correspondence: information is used to receive and respond to inquiries, based on legitimate interests in managing correspondence or, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Analytics and embedded videos: Jetpack Stats helps measure website traffic and improve content. Selected pages contain YouTube videos. Processing involving optional cookies and similar technologies is based on consent.
Consent management: cookie choices are recorded and applied so the website can respect your settings.
You can browse without submitting a contact form. If you send an inquiry, the required form fields are needed to receive and respond to your message.
5. Data content
Contact information may include your name, email address, message, and other information you choose to provide through the contact form or subsequent correspondence.
Technical and usage information may include your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring URLs, event timestamps, browser language, and country code. Automattic may also process your WordPress.com user ID and username if you are signed in to WordPress.com.
Other information may include cookie consent choices, saved preferences, and interactions with embedded YouTube videos when the player loads. Google may associate video interactions with your account depending on your sign-in status and settings.
Jetpack Stats presents aggregated reports to the site owner. Individual visitors’ IP addresses and WordPress.com account identities are not displayed in those reports.
6. Data sources
Information comes directly from you when you submit the contact form or correspond with the site owner. Technical information comes from your browser when you visit the website. Additional information may be collected through cookies, Jetpack Stats, and interactions with embedded YouTube videos.
Bluehost hosts the website and may process technical information needed to deliver, maintain, and secure it. Jetpack, provided by Automattic, supports website statistics and contact-form functionality. YouTube, provided by Google, supplies embedded video content.
The contact form uses Akismet, provided by Automattic, to help detect spam. Submission information, including the message, email address, IP address, browser information, and site URL, is sent to Akismet for spam checking. Processing is based on legitimate interests in preventing spam and misuse of the contact form.
7. Data retention
Contact-form submissions and related emails are deleted within 12 months after the conversation ends, unless an ongoing project, legal obligation, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims requires longer retention. This rule applies to copies managed by the site owner.
Automattic states that Jetpack Stats logs containing visitor IP addresses and available WordPress.com usernames are retained for 28 days. Aggregated statistics may remain available after those logs are deleted.
Akismet states that most spam-related data is retained for between two weeks and 90 days, with some information retained longer. Akismet’s retention is separate from the site owner’s deletion of form submissions. See Akismet’s privacy and retention information.
Cookie durations appear in the cookie declaration below. A cookie’s expiration does not necessarily determine how long a provider retains information already collected through it.
Hosting records, service-provider records, and backup copies may follow separate retention schedules. Further information is available in the Bluehost Privacy Policy, Jetpack privacy information, and Google’s data-retention information.
8. Data disclosure and transfer
Personal data may be processed by Bluehost for hosting, Automattic for Jetpack services, and Google when embedded YouTube content loads. Contact messages may also be processed by the email services used to deliver and respond to inquiries.
When a YouTube player loads, your browser connects to Google. Google may process technical information and video interactions for playback, security, preferences, analytics, and advertising, depending on your settings. If you are signed in to Google, some activity may be associated with your account. Using YouTube embeds does not mean the site owner runs advertising campaigns.
Service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Their privacy notices describe their international-transfer arrangements and applicable safeguards. See the Bluehost Privacy Policy, Automattic Privacy Notice, and Google Privacy Policy.
The site owner does not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights or website security.
9. Rights of the data subject
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, deletion, or restriction of processing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may request a portable copy of information you provided where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract.
You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, please use the contact form. Requests are normally answered within one month. Where legally permitted, complex or numerous requests may require an extension; you will be informed if this applies. Information needed to verify your identity may be requested.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred.

11. Consent management
This website uses Kansleri Cookie Consent to display a consent banner and let you choose optional cookie categories. Necessary cookies support core functions, security, and consent records and cannot be disabled through the banner. Analytics cookies help measure website usage and interactions with content. Marketing cookies support advertising, attribution, or cross-site tracking, including technologies associated with YouTube. Preference cookies remember settings and choices.
You can accept or reject optional categories and change or withdraw your choices at any time using the website’s cookie settings button. Rejecting optional categories may affect the availability of embedded videos or other optional features.
Cookies described as necessary to a third-party service do not mean that the service itself is essential to this website. For example, YouTube uses security and consent cookies as part of its video service.
Changing your consent does not automatically erase information already received by service providers. Some third-party cookies may remain until they expire or you remove them using your browser settings. Google account privacy settings provide additional controls over information associated with your Google account.
